Swollen preauricular lymph nodes

Has anybody had this? Do you know what the cause of it was? For over 3 weeks I have had swollen preauricular lymph nodes, swollen glands on my neck, an awful snotty nose that just leaks constantly and a cough. I get a sharp shooting pain in my ears but it's not frequent and it is over in seconds. I feel so drained and tired now.

I've had this for 3 weeks now and ive had enough.

When the lumps first appeared i did an online assessment from my docotrs and it said to make a face to face appointment. As it had just appeared and I wasn't feeling to terrible undecided to leave it and see if they would go away by themselves ( I have DS3 who doesn't sit still too which put me off going)

I rang them 3 days ago and it was on the system that id complained about these symptons 20 days ago. So they said the doctor would ring me within 48 hours but they havnt been back in touch yet.

What is it?

It’s probably a sinus infection. You might need some antibiotics to shift it completely. I hate taking antibiotics and would rather just let things run their course but some infections can be persistent. Do you get water in your ears a lot? Do you swim often?

No I don't swim and dont get wet ears ( as far as im aware ) I rang the GP's and they said the doctor would be in touch with a telephone consultation but I didn't get a call.

Yesterday I told my friend & she said it sounded like a sinus infection too. She had some antibiotics she hadn't used ( I know your not meant to take them if their not yours but I was feeling terrible ) I've been taking them for 24 hours now and the smaller lump is shrinking and I don't feel as heavy headed. Hopwfully these will shift it if not I'll try and get a hold of the doctors ( not holding much hope at this rate) thanks for replying

I was thinking maybe swimmers ear because of the sharp pains in your ears. I had that last summer and had sharp bursts of pain. Got some drops for it and it cleared up nicely.

Hope you feel better soon.
