How concerned should I be...

My partner had a FIT test a couple of weeks ago and a trace of blood was found in the sample. He had an appointment with a consultant yesterday who had a feel of his abdomen and said he could feel something and this morning he had a phone call for a CT scan next week. He has lost weight but he had an accident a couple of months ago and stopped drinking (was quite a heavy drinker) and i put weight loss down to that.
He has had no other symptoms and my mind has gone into overdrive at the speed he is being called back in for a scan..they offered Monday which he couldn't do so it will be Wednesday now.

Blood in urine? How old is he?

A FIT test is a stool sample, not urine

Everything happening fast is because he is on the cancer pathway. It doesn't mean they think he has cancer at this stage just that he is showing some possible markers for it. They are testing fast to rule it out not rule it in.

I hope it all turns out a minor ailment.

I have calmed down a bit now thankfully! I am hoping it is something like polyps rather than something nasty - we have had a rough couple of months with his health and I thought things were turning around. The FIT results were totally unexpected as there have been no previous symptoms.
