Anyone want to join me in the "Is it or isn't chicken pox" question?

DD very poorly yesterday, in and out of sleep, raging temperature 104.3f (40.2c) and very lethargic, along with cough and runny nose. Took her to the doctor who said it may be a virus or it may be the start of chicken pox and that we'd just have to wait and see over the next few days.

Today, she's a lot brighter in herself, her temp is much lower and she has two or three pimply spots on her face, but I think they are just spots! How the hell do I tell?

Sorry for starting yet another CP thread - I've just looked - there are loads already.

if it is CP, she will get a few, then in a few hours she will have LOADS - they 'usually' start on the face and head and then appear in the warm areas, nappy, under arms.....

Lots of fluid and rest, good luck, keep us updated.....

Thanks!

So I should know by this afternoon then. The lots of fluids thing is tricky as she's not interested in drinking, but will keep offering.

i seem to remember my boys spots started red and had a yellow tinge to the centre

LilRedWG · 27/09/2007 12:16

I'm sure she's just got a few spots. They are just pimple size and a couple of them have a litle white centre, but they're on her eye lid and she won't really let me take a close look.

breathes a sigh of relief!

LilBloodRedWG · 01/10/2007 10:29

Thanks again It was so scary when her temperature was so high. She's a lot better now, just full of cold and a bit clingy.

one of my DT's had CP very badly and ever since when he has a virus he gets a rash towards the end, apparently normal. He is the iller of the two, proper man, at deaths door at the meerest hint of a bug....
