What to expect - Stomach Cancer

We've found out today that FIL has Stomach cancer he's going Friday to see them and they've said he'll need more tests but they know what it is (I assume those will be for staging) he's had endoscopy and colonoscopy and CT scan and biopsies as far as I know.
He's always suffered GERD but was struggling to eat more than one small meal a day and was feeling very nauseous all the time.

I know things will depend on how far it is and which type, I've read it's likely to be an Adenocarcinoma in the stomach. I've never experienced anyone going through cancer thankfully so I don't know what to expect.

I don't know if DH can ask to go in with him due to Covid but he's offered him a lift at least.

I know this isn't about me in the slightest, I want to be prepared to support DH and his family as best as I can. Sad

I’d suggest just waiting, as hard as that is, to find out more about his specific case.

Hearing about others’ experiences - good or bad - may just raise your hopes or worry you unnecessarily.

Just try to concentrate on supporting your DH and FIL emotionally rather than having to ‘know’ stuff. It’s good to be informed once you have all the facts, but until then it’s just speculation. Flowers
