he has had a camera down throat, chest xray and ct scan, but no one has really explained and he is so laid back he forgets to ask! was packed off to doctors after much nagging because of hoarse voice and apparently one vocal cord isnt moving, but we dont know why. was told they would look for cancer (heavy drinker and smoker) but noone has mentioned seeing any tumours. cant find anything on net so help appreciated. tia

Have no idea but bumping for you - have you tried browsing NHS direct website? From dim and distant Biology memory, there is a membrane called the pleura round the lungs which can lead to a condition called pleurisy - an inflammation of the pleura - maybe that's what they mean? Pleurisy can be painful - I sw someone at work who was carted off to hospital with suspected heart attack that turned out to be pleurisy, but then a friend's mum when I was at school had it and she seemed fine just a bit run-down.

thanks for reply, it doesnt sound like that tho, most of the symptoms arent there.no pain and isnt runndown, just the hoarse voice and the lumpy lung

bump for anyone else
