Really worried even though i know shes in the best place and i will be there soon but sitting here feeling helpless, she's not even 2 yet! (will be 2 on sat). One min she was sat on the toilet chattering to her sister who was in the bath the next she fell off and banged her head and hurt her shoulder.

Anyone any exp of caring for a child with a fractured colar bone (or whatever else it could be?? (just incase?)

No advice, but plenty of sympathy!

Dp just rang she has got a tiny fracture they are going to try and put a sling on but doubt she will keep it on and all we can do is give medicine to ease pain. At least she was seen fairly quickly (less than an hour)

dd1 broke her collar bone when she was about your dd's age.

It hurt when she first did it, but by the time we got to the hospital, I was starting to worry that there was nothing wrong with her and I was being a time waster!

They put a foam sling on her arm which she had to keep on for 3 weeks ( I could take it off for baths and things) and after that she was better.

She did have a lump there when it healed (apparently kids bones always make more bone than they need to when they've been broken) but the docs said that this would fade as she grew and they were right, it did.

Imo, if she's going to break a bone, then this is the one to break because it was minimal discomfort for her.

Good luck
xx

Glad to hear that she was seen so quickly and that it's not too severe
