Chest pressure for 9 months

Hi all,

I’m going to do my best to cut a long story short.

9 months ago I began getting extreme chest pain. I genuinely believed I was having a heart attack, turned out I wasn’t. I have been in and out of hospital on numerous occasions to no avail. I have had bloods done and an ultrasound last November and told no gallstones apparently. I have had an endoscopy which has revealed a loose hiatus but no hernia seen. Doctor has noted talks fast heart rate and I’m currently on beta blockers and waiting to see a cardiologist because of COVID.

Now down to the description of the pain. Tonight for example, I ate chicken and chips ( yes fatty, greasy takeaway) and BOOM my chest feels like a horse is sitting on it and it’s been squeezed. Now this doesn’t happen all the time when I eat fatty food which confuses me more. So the pain, pressure, squeezing and I’ve had right shoulder blade pain alongside right rib cage pain all these months.

I am so at the end of my tether with it all. It has taken over my life. Before this I was a healthy 31 year old who runs half marathons. I take a beta blocker tablet, anti acid tablet and IBS tablet every morning and still I get this pain. It may sound dramatic but I envision just ripping my chest out with my bare hands at times. I really don’t know how much more I can take.

Any advice, help would be appreciated.

Malai, I have to seep sort of on my front with my duvet between the pair I own up top with one leg cocked up. Yes, what an image!

Still sounds like gallstones to me. Can you possibly have 'sludge' causing intermittent blockages rather than stones? It was in my case.

I get a stabbing pain in my lower left ribs. Maybe heartburn or something, but it did improve, coincidentally, with exercises I do to improve my posture. I have a mild scoliosis and possibly my poor posture was to do with it. Got the exercises off youtube.

Diet? Can you keep a food diary?
Stress? Are you exercising still?

I have this chest pressure. Its part of my IBS and milk really sets it off. Its my oesophagus contracting, spasming. I have been doing ok with cutting out anything containing milk and have been on Ranitidine but now that has been discontinued so am suffering again

I have a hernia, and you have to stop eating greasy crap, there is no other way. Change your diet or keep having issues.
