7 Weeks postpartum, pain on intercourse, tender cervix and pelvic floor. Any ideas?

We tried to have sex last night (not for the first time since the birth) but it was painful for me, felt like he was bashing into my cervix really hard so we stopped. I felt my cervix and it was really tender. I have no unusual discharge and haven't had a period yet. It has been a bit painful the previous few times too but I assumed it was just bruising/soreness after the birth that would fade with time, but I'm not sure now.

Also my pelvic floor in general is hurting when I cough, sneeze or laugh, like it did after the birth, and I have a weird mild pain down there all the time today, nothing like period pain/intestinal trouble (too low, it's obviously my pelvic floor/womb area)

Any ideas what this could be? And yes I do have a doctors appointment booked but I'm worried now in case it's an infection, or they left some placenta in or something.

I think you are wise to have made an appointment. TBH, after DS birth it was 6-9 mths before I didn't have any discomfort during sex. It slowly got better, but I had to use lots of lubricant or it was painful, and also a glass of wine helped me relax as I was expecting it to be painful so was tensing up more so it was, iyswim? I would think the fact you have no discharge or anything is a good sign!

Meant to add, definetly get you pelvicfloor checked, maybe could be a slight prolapse? Although I am not medically minded!

Sex was painful for me when I went for my 6 weeks check (at 8 weeks) and doc checked my tear...he said that it hadn't fully healed yet but seemed to be getting better. He did take a swab for infection just in case. FWIW my got better within a few weeks of the check.

Thanks. I did tear externally but it's totally healed and not painful at all, this is more inside than out iyswim. I did wonder about a prolapse myself but from what I can feel, my cervix is up high almost out of reach, so doubt it's that, but it just doesn't feel right at all.
