Weird smallish lump on tonsil

Hi, so I’ve had a skin/red coloured ish lump/nubbin on my tonsil for a couple of days. At first I thought I had food caught in my mouth but when I opened it wide I saw this kind of lump. It’s completely painless, jist a little irritating when I swallow occasionally. I’m 19 and fairly healthy but have been prone to numerous bouts of tonsillitis. I worried about some sort of cancer because I don’t know much about this. I know I ought to see a doctor but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what it could be and how long I ought to leave it til I see a doctor. I’ve shown my family and they think it’s jist some kind of infection on my tonsil and told me to stop worrying but you never know!

Have you given it a prod with a cotton bud?
Type in small red lump on tonsil and search by images. See if whatever you have matches something so you get a clue what it is. Could it be a
Tonsilliar cyst for example? But if you have any concerns then do speak to a Dr. Our are mostly doing phone/video consultations and ask patients to text/email in photos so see if you can get a good picture of it before you phone.

@kojolo no it’s too soft to be a tonsil stone, it kind of hangs out a little too.
