Have spots on my tonsils am I mad not to go to gp as going away for a few days?

Going away for a few days but suddenly overnight got a sore throat and cold.
Will it go on it's own, or am I completely mad?

I had this a couple of years ago before I went abroad. WHite spots on tonsils and awful sore throat. GP recommended Dequacain (you can buy from chemist - lozenges) but said there was little else they could do.

white spots on tonsils usually signals the begining of tonsilitis for me... is it very sore, like razor blades when you swallow???
Go to your GP, you'll save yourself a lot of pain if it is tonsilitis
