What is this on my eye?

DH noticed this (see pic) last week. I thought it was maybe a bruise? Although I haven't hurt my eye at any point.
I do get ocular migraines, and had an odd one a few months ago where my vision went black on this side for a few minutes. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary. Any ideas?

A vein.

It's the equivalent of a bruise on your eye. It's harmless and should disperse on it's own.

Have you coughed hard or been constipated recently? Extra strain can cause them.

@Chocolatear thank you, I haven't, but wondering if my two year old could have hit me in the night!

That would do it!

The official name is a subconjunctival haematoma.

No it's not, why would you diagnose something if you're not sure?

It's a dilated episcleral vessel. It's probably nothing - but you need to go and have an eye exam and have the eye pressure checked when we (Optmetrists) open fully in a couple of weeks.
