Advice on breast cancer

Hi not sure if I'm in the right topic or even if anyone can help but I went to docs with a breast lump recently then on Friday was sent for a scan...he then sent me for a mammogram and took a biopsy. Originally both doctors I saw said they thought it was a cyst or blocked milk duct (currently breast feeding) but after the mammogram apparently it came back as 'suspicious' and at a grade 3-4 on the scale (apparently 5 is definitely cancer). I have to go back on Monday for biopsy results and can't help thinking the worst! Am so scared especially having 2 young children aged 4 and 6 months! Has anyone been through this and it come back not to be cancer or is that just wishful thinking? xxx

Hi op. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma 4 weeks ago, ive had my lumpectomy and am waiting to start chemo/ radiotherapy etc.
When i had my mammogram and ultrasound they could tell straight away, infact my consultant told me she was 100 percent certain and the biopsy was just to tell them what kind of cancer it was and grade/ stage etc. Odd question but did you see your ultrasound? I was shown mine while it was being done and it looked like a sprouting potato- oval with spiky shoots coming off it. This apparently is classic for cancerous lumps.
Even if the news is bad- things will move very quickly and its better they find things like this sooner rather than later. Try not to google was the best advice i got while waiting- all the info is out of date anyway! The cancer support group on here is brilliant too with lots of people like you waiting for tests etc. Hope its good news- let us know.

Thank you @Redannie118 no I didn't see the ultrasound so no idea what it looked like. It was the way they were talking to me about it felt like they knew it was but couldn't tell me without the biopsy results. Yeah I've realised google is not the place to look....just worrying me even more! What will be will be I suppose and like you say hopefully things will move fast if it does turn out to be the worst! I think I've prepared myself for it as much as I can. I hope your treatment goes well....and yes I will let you know how it goes on Monday!! Fingers and toes crossed xx
