In need of some hand holding

Recently I've had some pain in my groin that comes and goes and feels like a pinched nerve. I've now started getting pain under my arms and have an enlarged lymph node in my neck. I'm constantly itchy and have bruises all over my legs. Gp took some blood and says he doubts theres anything wrong but if the lymph node is still swollen in a week further investigations will be carried out. I lost my mum to lymphoma and the thought of my 11 month old having to go through that is breaking my heart, I'm so scared

When did the GP take the blood? If anything suspicious showed up they contact you almost immediately. I am sorry I have no idea what it could be and I certainly wouldn't want to hazard a guess. It must be worrying for you as you lost your mum but I'm sure if the GP thought it could be lymphoma, he would have taken it more seriously. I'm pretty sure you do not get pain in glands with lymphoma anyway?

Try not to worry, easy to say and I know how hard it is as I have Health anxiety. Consider your hand held

Here for the hand hold. I hope you get some answers soon. It must be such a worry especially with losing your mum. If lymphoma was suspected they would act very quickly from your blood results. Don’t be afraid to go back if you feel something isn’t right.

Thank you for hand holding. Havent heard anything back from GP regarding bloods so taking this as a good sign and will phone tomorrow to get them (hopefully they'll be back but dont know due to covid). So far after yesterday I havent noticed any new bruises apart from one from bloods so no new ones today. Hoping the itch and weight loss (I've lost 3.5kg since january but I had a baby 11 months ago so this could be why I've been losing weight (baby weight maybe,?)) Is from the anxiety I've had surrounding the swollen lymph node as when I'm anxious I feel dreadful and cant bring myself to eat

I'm also thinking I might have health anxiety as before this I thought I was having a cryptic pregnancy and then thought I had bowel or stomach cancer, i feel stupid writing this

Don't feel stupid but it is classic HA to catastrophise ailments. I've lost count of the life threatening illnesses I've diagnosed myself with. Top tip-keep off Google!!

If it was anything serious they would have been in touch by now so please take that as a positive. I always lose weight when I am anxious too. Hope you get your results soon to put your mind at rest xx

It does make me feel stupid though due to the fact I'm a student nurse Blush
