Can't sleep! help!

Does any one really struggle to sleep? I almost can't sleep at all most nights and only when it catches up with me do I manage to exhaust myself and sleep for hours on end. My mind never turns off to allow me to rest!
I've tried sleep music, pillow sprays, sleep aid (Tesco's one brand that didn't seem to help at all), relaxation YouTube videos, counting, body relaxation techniques, you name it!
Honestly feel like crying Sad any tips or tricks are appreciated!!

This is me too
I can’t switch off and actually do cry about it a lot
I use sleeping pills about once a week just so I get one night - but am permanently exhausted because of it...

@Savoretti oh no! I feel your pain, I can lay in bed for hours eyes closed with no sign of sleep at all! I suffer with anxiety but a lot of the time it's simple none important pointless things that are on my mind keeping me from sleep, so I can't even put it down to that! At my wits end ConfusedSad

Have you tried sleeping pills prescribed from doc to get your body back into a sleeping pattern and then come off them?

KingSheathBelle · 04/06/2020 03:29

ASMR on you tube? I lime Gibi, or latenighttingles?

KingSheathBelle · 04/06/2020 03:30

or a sedating anti-histimine?

user59 · 04/06/2020 03:32

@user1471549213 no, I've never had prescribed sleeping pills, just ones that I've bought from the chemist. I'd consider going the docs and asking for some however I don't feel like it's a big issue in the middle of a pandemic! Hoping for a sleep miracle!! GrinConfused

@KingSheathBelle ah I've been loving ASMR videos, they seem to work whilst I'm watching, then as I turn my phone off and try to get my head down the brain kicks off again Envy
Thanks for the suggestion though!! I'll give them accounts a look Grin

@user59 I’m the same re anxiety. It’s the rubbish silly thoughts that keep me awake, but I do think the underlying cause is anxiety
It’s awful isn’t it
I don’t find any of the apps or mindfulness stuff works for me. I worry over the top of them!
