I've just been to see a urologist today and he has recommended that I have an Aris trans-obturator tape inserted to relieve stress incontinence. I was wondering if anyone has had this done, if it worked, were there any side effects? Thanks.

Don't want to seem to personal, but do you know how bad it has to be before you get an op? I'm going for a gynea appointment in a week for a bladder prolaspe - is it the same thing? Good luck anyway.

Sorry not to reply but we've had problems with the computer. I wouldn't say I'm 'bad', but he seems keen on performing it. I can't jump up and down skipping for instance or do excessive aerobic sessions, or trampoline but day to day it's manageable. Though if I have to go then I have to go iykwim! Have you had physio at all? For me it is the anterior wall of the vagina that is weak and this op would lift up the urethra.

Not sure how bad it is in medical terms, but I have the cold at the moment and sneezing is getting to be a bit of a chore. I have to keep crossing my legs! I suppose I'll have to wait until next week to find out.
