I broke a filling I was supposed to have it fixed first week of lockdown

I've had antibiotics and now it just hurts all the bloody time

I will ring the dentist again this morning

But oh god!! TOOTHACHE!!!!!

Can't remember when I last took this much pain relief

It's bloody awful.

Been suffering with teeth grinding at night and the guard I had fitted 10 years ago no longer fits after having a tooth removed.

Advice from the dentist, relax before you go to sleep and if jaw locks bite on a pencil!!

Not a happy camper here either!

Antibiotics for me - well a prescription posted then I have to find someone to take it to the chemist and wait around for it :(

Give your dentist another call and they can advise you what to do...if the pain is really bad they can refer you to a hub where the tooth will only be extracted...I'm a dental nurse and the practice I work at is ment to be opening next week and starting with seeing emergencies only

What starfish says is right, tell them it hurts all the time, pain unmanageable and you should get referred to a hub.

What is classed as an emergency?

I wake up every morning with loose teeth from grinding. My TMJ is knackered and interferes with eating.

Clove oil put on the effected area and arnica tablets have always been our go to. Orajel is good too.

He has booked me in on his first morning back - which he is hoping will be next week (fingers crossed)

He would rather I didn't lose that tooth if possible

I had toothache for 10 days once, resorted to using an old pack of tramadol from a knee op. Chewing a raw garlic clove onto the affected area helped a bit if you can bear it. My sympathies, it's horrendous.

@BeautifulBirds an emergency is classed as being kept awake at night with toothache and where u have rang ur dentist and been given antibiotics which don't work...u may get given a second course of different antibiotics to see if they help...if the pain is still keeping u up at night tender to bite on etc and nothing is working then the referral can be sent to a hub where they can only take the tooth out...currently no other treatment can be done with using a hand piece (drill) due to aerosols (spray off the drill) as this causes germs to spread eg the corona virus...ur teeth are more than likely to be loose due to the grinding/Tmj problems where u could need a mouth guard to help...also teeth can be loose due to gum problems x

I would have it extracted.

Relaxing before sleep works if its grinding.

It wont work for toothache no.

A dental emergency is toothache that cannot be controlled with pain releif, swelling, bleeding that cannot be controlled with local measures, dental trauma, suspected oral cancer

Loose teeth are unlikely to be caused by grinding alone, it is normally as a result of perio disease. This is not an acute problem as will have been going om for years

A knackered TM joint cannot be treated in general practice, it is not an acute emergency that can be treated in an UCC. Most of the time there is very little intervention

& the chemist says I can't have the anitbiotics until tomorrow!

I had my tooth extracted last week after two courses of ABs . My dentist referred me to an emergency hub and had it removed the next day using sedation and recovered so well . Best decision I have made for a long time!!

I've been filled - I am so relieved!!

Not quite out of pain yet and the appointment was a right lava!
