Not sure that I actually did, but apparently my coil was almost all the way out of the cervix when I went for an(unrelated) gynaecologist check up. Had it re-fitted today by GP and we were musing that maybe my mooncup could have sucked it out LOL. Could it?? is this feasible? Also, how low are your coil threads, mine are almost ready to be outside my fanjo, but thankfully not quite!!

mine are about a millimetre outside my cervix, unfortunately. I tried to get mine removed a couple of weeks ago and the gp couldn't get hold of it!
I'd love to pull it out if I could!

Someone on here pulled theirs out just by having a bit of a fiddle IIRC

I know two ladies who have removed their own coils on purpose. Jeez I know I couldn't.

When I was wanting to try for DS and needed to get the coil out ASAP, I wish I had known how easy it was, would have bloody done it myself too!!

Really? [eyes water]

just going off the subject a bit here - does anyone have bad stomach cramps half way thro cycle with the coil

spiker · 20/09/2007 23:38

Heavier periods/cramping is not unusual with regular IUD, I certainly suffered so when I had one (before I'd had babies btw). Am about to get another one so not looking forward to that aspect of it, but have run out of options!

stiefyloo · 20/09/2007 23:42

Heavier periods an understatement! Had the non-hormone one fitted 3 mths ago and just had 2nd period and was bleeding through tampons every half hr. Does it settle down?

spiker · 20/09/2007 23:46

I can't remember, but then I definitely didn't have bleeding as bad as that. Overall I don't think it improved really, but it was copeable with.

spiker · 20/09/2007 23:48

Sorry chacha just read your post properly - cramping 'halfway' through cycle would be when you are ovulating, not sure what that would mean about coil, I never had that, might be normal but I would check that out. How is it when you are menstruating?

chacha3 · 21/09/2007 08:36

really bad period pains as well! dont really get much of a break from the cramps.
