My son noticed this about a week ago, but it has now gone hard, not painful and doesn't itch,
I think it could be a tick bite.as his son takes his dog into the woods for a run, and sometimes leaves it with his dad
Ringworm has been suggested, but doesn't look like Ringworm to me
He has also noticed now a few small red spots on his leg
Anyone any ideas please
I will try to post a pic, hope it's clear enough as took it off a photo

Could it be Pityriasis rosea?

Def get checked in case it’s a tick bite, though

Well not sure what that is, but still looks like a tick bite to me

I think tick bite too. He needs antibiotics. I found a small tick on me and didn’t get the rash but then developed joint pain. I’m now two weeks in to a four week course of antibiotics!

Our local chemist has seen it and definitely thinks its a tick bite, but suggested he contacted the surgery,Dr asked hm to email a picture which he did, Dr doesn't think it's a tick bite and suggested he put moisturiser on it, and ring him back if it doesn't go,
I think he suggested moisturiser as it looks a bit flaky round the outside edge
Our Dr is brilliant and been a huge support to my son who suffers from anxiety, but i can't see how moisturiser is going to help, when no one knows why it suddenly appeared

I think it could be what MiniMaxi said, as i have googled it and th treatment is similiar to what the Dr said, and my son did have a sore throat,as that apparently be a symptom, and hasn't felt well
If so it could be viral

Have a look at lyme disease uk too. The bulls eye rash is often mistaken for ringworm or similar. First signs of lyme Can be sore throat or pain. Ticks can be as small as a full stop.

I still think its a tick bite, partly due to the fact that his sons dog goes out walking in the woods everyday, and when he looks after it,the dog sits very close to his legs,or even on the bed if he has it overnight
Also strange that it is just one red ring,
Anyway will see what happens when he has done what the Dr suggested,
Dr said Lyme disease is very rare here, but some people must get it
He hasn't been feeling well though a bit fluey and sore throat, and already had it for 2 weeks
