I feel so unwell

I feel exhausted all the time. I sleep about 9 or 10 hours a night but could fall asleep in seconds during the day if I sat in a comfy chair. Feel cold and shivery. Wake up every morning with numb hands. Head feels so fuzzy and I can't focus on anything. Dizzy spells. Really forgetful. I've got a telephone GP appointment for mon but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on what could be causing it?

Lots of things could cause those symptoms.
Anaemia, thyroid issues, vitamin deficiencies etc
You will need a blood test to find out the issue.

I did wonder about thyroid

Check B12

Sounds like hypothyroidism (underactive) to me, OP. You'll need to phone your GP and arrange a blood test.

I've had the GP appointment. She's increased my antidepressants but said to hold off on a blood test for now. Told me to take vit d, b12 & iron and see if that plus increased dose of ADs helps and if still feel crap in about 4 weeks will do a blood test.

Does that sound ok to you OP?
Is that good advice? Or a fobb off? I can't tell!

LivingThatLockdownLife · 19/05/2020 21:17

Add omega 3 to that list.

I had those symptoms and was diagnosed with chronic fatigue. Which is what they diagnose after the blood tests.

Actually I was just fundamentally physically and emotionally ground down. 5 years later and a total rewire of my habits and relationships, I'm mostly ok.

anxietrist · 19/05/2020 22:22

@LivingThatLockdownLife I can relate to that. I expect I am also fundamentally physically and emotionally ground down and could feel better after 5 years and a total rewire of my habits and relationships!

@Oblomov20 I'm ok with it! I need the increase dose of ADs so maybe that alone would help. My diets been pretty rubbish so some sort of deficiency is also not unlikely. Ordered all my supplements 👍🏻
