Feel like I'm going to throw up

Does anyone else get this? For the past 6 months or so, a few times a week, I get this horrible feeling like in going to be sick. Not in my stomach but I get this rush of saliva and I get this overwhelming feeling of wanting to be sick. I have to grab a drink really quickly and keep drinking until I don't feel it anymore. Has anyone ever had this or have any idea what it could be?

That sounds awful, op. Are you having any other symptoms/issues? How old are you?

ememem84 · 16/05/2020 14:41

Any chance you’re pregnant?

zafferana · 16/05/2020 14:42

Could be acid reflux. Talk to your GP. You may need to be put on a medication like Lansoprazole - works a treat.

ShambalaHambala · 16/05/2020 18:15

Definitely not pregnant. No sex for 2 years! Could definitely be acid reflux!

If it is @ShambalaHambala I know how horrible it is - I suffered with it towards the end of last year and it made my life an absolute misery. Ring your GP first thing tomorrow and try to get a phone or video consultation asap. If they put you on Lansoprazole, make sure to take it first thing in thing morning, before you eat anything, and then wait half to one hour before you eat breakfast. If you don't, it doesn't work! I keep mine by the bed and when my alarm goes, I take it immediately. Hope you get it sorted.

@ShambalaHambala after I posted I re read your post and saw that it wasn’t a continuous feeling of pukeyness. And now with your update - probably highly unlikely to be preg unless you’re name is Mary and you live in the Middle East? Know any Joseph’s? 😀

I’d get an apt with the gp asap.

zafferana · 17/05/2020 08:26

No, it's not continuous. I had it after meals and really badly in the evenings - a nasty sour taste in my mouth much of the time and I could feel the acid creeping up my oesophagus - it was vile! I nearly threw up in an exercise class when I was lying on a mat - lying down was particularly bad.
