Sore in mouth?

Just want advice really, I have what looks like a sore in my mouth it's not painful, started as a red patch slightly raised but now it is flat it's red in the centre and white on the edges.
Does anyone know what this could be?!
(Can attach picture if needed)

Thanks. It appears it’s in the roof of your mouth.
It would most likely be traumatic in cause. We tend to worry more when they are red around the edges. However if it hasn’t gone in 7 -10 days please get advice from your dentist. All non healing ulcers need to be seen within this time frame.
If it is still there/ changed be quite insistent that some sees you face to face. HTH
