Feeling ill over 2 weeks later

Hi, I started to feel unwell just over two weeks. It started with my legs feeling tired and heavy like I’d ran a marathon or something. The next day it progressed to my arms and shoulders too. I’ve been exhausted and struggling to move from couch to kitchen without being exhausted. My head is pounding and I can hear my heartbeat whoosh and pound in my head. Sleeping most of the day and short of breath if I do anything. For example emptying the tumble dryer had me so done in. GP thought covid at first and told me to stop a few meds that I take (painkillers and BP meds). After over a week She prescribed antibiotics and painkillers but I’m 3 days in and feeling just as awful. I’ve also now had two episodes where my faeces was almost black. I’m just looking for ideas? I’m going to call GP on Monday but I’m just feeling so awful I want it to stop. I can barely look after the kids as I’m just sleeping on the sofa all day and my daughter is doing the cooking.

Hi OP DH and I had symptoms from mid March. Feeling fluey, aching, DH had a temperature. We completely lost taste and smell too which has very slowly come back. Over Easter we had terrible Sinusitis and both had phone consultations with the GP.
7 weeks later I’d say I’m well. Started to get strength back a few weeks ago. DH is about a week behind me.
Maybe Covid, but we just don’t know. Not much else to add, but you’ll get there. I genuinely thought at one point that I’d never feel well again.
Give it time xx

Black faeces are not covid related, I believe, but nevertheless should be investigated urgently, especially given your other symptoms. When one of my friends passed a black stool her GP had her admitted to hospital the same day. She turned out to have a stomach ulcer. Please ask your GP for an urgent appointment tomorrow.

The black faeces are a concern. Please speak to you GP about that ASAP.

I’m going to call the GP again tomorrow. I’ve been trying to keep a list of my symptoms. I just feel absolutely exhausted at the slightest thing like going to the loo. It’s awful.

Thank you for your advice. I ended up admitted to hospital and needed a blood transfusion due to a bleeding stomach ulcer. I’m very lucky.

Glad to hear you're being looked after and that it's nothing more sinister, OP. Get well soon!
