I have been prescribed this ointment for an anal fissure. Sorry, tmi. I'm not really sure what I am meant to do. There seems to be the external application option or a smaller plastic tube for internal application. It is kind of just inside. I don't know, I feel kind of miserable about the whole thing. Anyone got a clue? Or a magic wand? Sad

It is a very good medicine. Apply it outside twice daily. If it is a fissure then outside application will work as the medicine will be absorbed in the skin. If you also have internal piles then you can use the plastic tube.
If you need a magic wand then use organic castor oil externally . Apply liberally before bowel movement and once at night , works wonder - makes you skin strong and flexible and less prone to tearing. Will also repair the fissure better than any treatment available on the market. It's cheap - will cost £1.99 for 100ml on eBay.
Also use a stool softener for few days- liquid paraffin works best for piles and fissure as it oils your internals and repairs internal cuts plus softens the movement. But you can use any softener based on your preference.
I feel your pain, fissures are the worst. I hope you get well soon. If you have too much burning sensation whole day then witch hazel wipes are a saviour or you can add some witch hazel into sitz bath and sit in it for 20 minutes.
