Rash has just appeared on leg. It’s not itchy or painful.

Anyone have any ideas?

We're just bumping this thread for the OP in case anyone has any ideas.

If you look up Fifth Disease rash pictures - specifically second stage - it looks like a similar pattern.

lemonjumper · 02/05/2020 14:38

Presumably you haven't been sitting on anything with a pattern like that??Smile

Couchpotato3 · 02/05/2020 14:40

Have you had it up against something hot?

wonderrotunda · 02/05/2020 14:50

I went to the GP with similar and she said it was a circulation issue...I stand all day at work...and suggested support socks/tights. Mine did not hurt. It still looks like that sometimes.

Yesthesearemymonkeys · 02/05/2020 14:51

Thanks for the replies - it’s actually my DH - hasn’t been leaning against anything hot or against anything with that pattern.

I’ve looked up fifth disease - it seems to usually affect the face first - he hasn’t had anything like this and the lacy pattern looks much smaller and tightly packed together. Each loop is about the size of a ten pence piece. He’s many decades older than the typical fifth disease patient too Smile

Appreciate the suggestions.

I was a bit worried about Lyme disease (one loop seems to have a dot in the middle) but looking at the images for that I think I’m reassured it isn’t that. I think...

Thanks @wonderrotunda. He has lymphedema so circulation might be the issue. Because I’d that he has to wear compression socks anyway though.

Maybe be watchful it doesn’t get painful...cellulitis I think can look similar

HeadacheAgainToday · 03/05/2020 17:51

It's livedo reticularis. I have it too. Doc said it may have been bought on by a recent bout of coronavirus. But if it's not gone in a few weeks might need blood tests as it can be linked to some nasties including antiphospholipid syndrome and sneddon syndrome.

HeadacheAgainToday · 03/05/2020 17:52

Sorry, didn't see you update re: lymphedema. He should probably get it checked with a doc...

Yesthesearemymonkeys · 03/05/2020 20:54

@HeadacheAgainToday

Thank you for taking the time to post. The rash actually disappeared after a couple of hours - do you think that would have happened with Livedo Reticularis? Can’t face looking up those conditions you mention quite yet - poor DH suffers from Parkinson’s as it is - last thing he needs is any more horrible conditions Sad

@HeadacheAgainToday - sorry, meant to say I hope you’re feeling better and thank you again for your advice.

Hi Op...I just saw this and hope it’s not related and that your DH is fine...but thought I should mention it, from The Guardian
