Help moisturiser Rosacea

Help i have rosaces spots and burning. I’m using Cerave lotion as a moisturiser. The Cerave tub gives me more spots. My skin is actually splitting. Any suggestions on a good moisturiser. I think the HA in the Cerave is actually sucking moisturiser out. I’m desperate any suggestions for moisturiser that’s not stupidly expensive. I’m on 40mg of doxy. I can’t do higher due to gut problems.
Plus any suggestions I’ve done 4 months of soolantra and skin is so sore , Doxycycline is doing nothing

If it were me I'd only use softened water when washing. Just use pure almond oil with a couple of drops of lavender essential oil (or t tree) for cleansing and moisturising. Evening primrose is brilliant for rosacea . Take 2 drops morning and evening

Also look at what you eat. Some people are allergic to tomatoes or oranges\juice or chillies\vinegar etc. . I used to be, when I stopped them my eczema and rosacea improved almost completely.

I’m using filtered water for washing I’m not wearing makeup I’ve cut out sugar,dairy,yeast,citrus,tomatoes,alcohol out and things are getting worse.

Have you tried cetaphil?

Be careful with tea tree, it ought to help by killing mites but can irritate skin quite badly.

Azelaic acid can help.

T Tree is one of the very best and gentlest ess. oils (and has been used successfully for thousands of years by the native Australians) it is anti bacterial and anti viral ( to start with you mix it with a carrier oil like almond) 2 drops with half a cup of the oil. You may need more if you get no results. It needs to be fresh but it's a hell of a lot better than some of the A.B. , petroleum or animal based creams. I love it (as does my family) and use it for everything.

Your skins barrier is impaired

Avoid using anything with vitamin A for now as you will definately react. But use the barrier repair and an SPF daily. I would recommend ULTRASUN factor 30+

How long have you been giving up those foods? it can take a while for things to calm down.. Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil as a supplement? Liz Earle's book New Vital Oils will help you.

Also I would go against using tea tree anything for a while. Your skin needs to repair before you can use that.

Tea tree is great if you have oily/ acne/ blemish prone skin. However using it for sensitised skin can cause a lot more problems. The tea tree would be too strong and will cause more problems and your skin will feel sore.

Again avoid using skin OILS during the day. Oil reacts with the sun and it causes a frying effect on your skin.

Oils are for nighttime to regenerate and nourish.

Lotions and creams are for daytime use as it’s lighter and provides a barrier for the skin. SPF is important. Always.

If you read my post I said 2 drops to 1\2 a cup of almond oil. She could try it will no harm whatever. Somethings' giving her a terrible time and it's not T tree. Lavender is also very good btw.

Tea tree oil has lots of beneficial properties but it is a known skin irritant.

I think cetaphil is the base cream for Soolantra so if you didn’t get on with that I’m not sure that it’s worth trying.

I have the same problem with CeraVe, it’s great for body but it is comedogenic so not great for the face. I’m having more luck with the toleraine range from La Roche Posay. I think everyone’s skin is different though.

I wouldn't go out in the midday sun with bad skin without a hat anyway is she planning on sunbathing? she didn't say so. The oils I have recommended sink IN to the skin easily. I don't put them on at night. Have you read Liz Earle's book ?

The OP needs extra omega 3s in her diet. The traditional diet does not nec. have enough in it .

At least 6 months and I’m on low fodmaps diet aswell

I take codliver oil everyday . And eat sardines also take primrose oil and collagen powder

Try Avene tolerance, the no rinse cleanser and the extreme emulsion. I had similar and this was suggested to me by a dermatologist. Within a week my skin was back to normal. You can buy it online.

Also cover up completely in the sun and never sunbathe as I have sun allergy

Citri Huh? This is a conversational site. Have you got some sort of problem with a recommendation of books? My advice is based on my own and my families' experiences too.

I wonder if you have allergic reactions to some ingredients of the medications you are taking\using Tasha ?

Op I have roseacre. The only thing that works for me is the entire Kalme range. Look it up. I was skeptical. But it works!
