In agony with my foot :(

Just seeing if anyone has had anything similar/has any advice?

For info, I am 33 and normally healthy. I have been out on walks locally, a couple of miles, with my young son over the past week or so but nothing out of the ordinary. No falls/trips while out and I always wear good boots (we live rurally).

Yesterday, when I got up, my right foot seemed a little sore at first, nothing major at all. I assumed it was a bit of cramp/stiffness/I had slept on it weirdly. Within a minute or so, it was totally fine.

Over night, in bed, my ankle was sore. I got up this morning and I am in agony Sad I can't walk properly on my foot because it is so painful to weight bear on it. It hurts when I am sat still! I have rested it and taken paracetamol.

The pain is around the ankle and down the right hand side of my foot. I feel queazy with it. Strangely, there is no bruising or major swelling. Possibly a tiny bit of swelling but certainly nothing to shout about.

I am assuming I have somehow sprained it but literally no idea how. I am painfully hobbling/hopping when I need to move.

Has anyone experienced this or got any advice?

Is it on the bottom of your foot or at the side?

Sure you didn’t get a tick bite recently OP? If in doubt speak to your GP; they might want to get you a course of antibiotics... you don’t want Lyme disease.

Could be a sprain, as you say, so paracetamol and ibuprofen and a good dose of rest, ice, compression and elevation. Give it a few days.

Get well soon.

Hope it’s not a ruptured Achilles’ tendon. Happened to me just as you said,. I felt as though I’d been kicked in the back of the leg. I’m in an orthopaedic boot now, on crutches too for the next 6 weeks.!

Could it be planter fasciitis?
I suffer with this and it has been far worse in lockdown especially when getting out of bed in the morning. I put it down to wearing slippers constantly and am now wearing shoes indoors for support.

Thank you for the replies. It's still very painful.

It's on the side of my foot -like from the ankle down towards the little toe. No bites that I can see plus I had a walking boot on so don't think anything could have got in.

Might try the GP today. Don't want to waste anyone's time though, particularly in the current climate.

Plantar fascilitis, possibly, I had this a couple of years ago, after moving house and all its associated rushing around, mine took a while to improve but it was quite a weird pain, almost a burning cramp sensation. Ibuprofen for inflammation definitely. Hope it eases soon

Managed to get a video consultation with the GP this morning. He thinks its peroneal tendonitis Sad

I have anti inflammatory gel and paracetamol to help ease it. He also sent me a link to some exercises to do. I have to rest it as much as I can.

Not fun at all Sad
