Mole on face

Not sure where to post this so hopefully this is the right place.

I have a mole on my upper lip, it’s been there for as long as I can remember.
For the last week or so the skin underneath has become raised and a little tender.
The mole itself still looks to be the same kind of shape and size, the lump beneath it is not mole-coloured.
I do suffer with acne and take medication for this so is it possible I have a spot underneath my mole?

Should I get this checked out? Under normal circumstances I’d just make a doctors appointment but I don’t want to waste their time or make an unnecessary journey myself

I get spots in my moles. I would make your appointment- assuming there’s is a wait anyway. Then if it’s still there by the appointment get it checked

I wonder if your GP does online consultations, where you could send a photo?

Some doctors are doing phone calls and video calls to stop close contact.

There is a possibility you could take a photo and arrange for a doctor to look at it and phone you back with either an appointment to come in or a diagnosis.

See what your GP's surgery is offering. It isn't something I would leave. I always had a little flesh coloured "mole" on my face and then I started catching it with my glasses that I started to wear.

I went to a private skin clinic, confirmed it was a mole, but when lasered it they said it was basal cell carcinoma. I wish I had gotten it removed earlier. Healed beautifully, can't even see the scar.

Thank you both.
There’s no appointments available online so I’ll give them a call on Tuesday.
Yes an online consultation would be useful, I’ve no idea if they offer that.
