DD is one on Saturday and I'm still losing hair...is this normal?

I have all these tufty new bits which stick up and look silly.

I am still loosing mine but had 3 very close together. Youngest is 8mths. It has gone a bit better since I had my hair cut short.

daisyandbabybootoo · 12/09/2007 20:44

The hair loss should have stopped by now, I think; can't remember with DS as 5 years ago, and DD 14 weeks and it hasn't started to fall out yet!

Have you had a blood test for thyroid function. A friend of mine had lots of ahirloss and episodes of forgetfulness (ie forgetting to strap her baby in, driving off and leaving him in his chair on the drive) and it turns out she had thyroid problems....can't remember if it was over or under active.

I think my hair loss went on for about 3 months. Not sure. It had definitely stopped by 6 months though, probably long before.

I can only be sure that I now look shoite with the tufty regrowth including a particularly nasty short fringe.

biglips · 12/09/2007 20:48

mine stopped when DD was 8 months old.

tassissss, I am losing hair all over the place (dd is 3 months) and I apparently have an overactive thyroid, worth getting checked.

ja9 · 12/09/2007 21:07

mine has definitely slowed down and dd is 6mo (in case you didn't know!)

Quootiepie · 12/09/2007 21:08

Mine went on for ages, stopped about 1 ish.

tassisssss · 12/09/2007 21:17

Quootiepie, you're my new best friend!

Ta!

trixymalixy · 12/09/2007 23:24

aaah, is that why I'm getting new tufty bits that kind of look like I did when I tried to cut myself a fringe as a kid.

Thought I was brushing my hair too hard or something!
