Has anyone got any experience of using the karvol vaporizer and whether they make a difference. My dd(just turned 1) has a terrible cold and cannot sleep. We have put her bed up, have pots of karvol and hot water, give her medised(works for a little bit) so wondered if I'd try this.

Ive tried the viva one and boots electric one, I think they are fab for babs with colds. As the drops seem to lose there potency after a while and vaporisers last a lot longer. The viva one only lasts 8 hrs though and the boots electric one lasts about 10-12 hrs which I feel is better for baby sleep times. The only thing is that you need at least 3mx3m room.

we usually put a few drops on a tissue near the bed - seems to work for us.

Hi Carameli
Have you tried Calrub, similar to vicks but specially made for young ones. Same people who make Calpol. Rub a little on the chest, I know it's a bit old fashioned but it really worked for my one .
Good Luck

We've used it and it did seem to help, but we had to turnit on and close dds bedroom door for a good hour or so before her bedtime to give it time to work its way round the room. I think each capsule worked for a couple of nights

We use the Boots one & found it to be very good. The little pad things last all night & do help.

I think the karvol vapouriser is fab! Always take it on holiday just in case and invariably dd (or dh!) gets a sniffle and we use it. I'd say if you switch it off in the day they usually need a refill after three days, and its really not much use unless you can shut the door.

The boots vaporisor is great, it really helps to clear throat and chests. Definatly my best buy in amongst a load of rubbish that have bought since having children.

We have got a humidifier from Argos, it was about £25, with a space to put Karvol/ Olbas oil next to where the steam comes out, so it fills the room. It is brilliant and really helps ease a cough and cold, especially when used alongside Medised. Hope she feels better soon
