Hi there

I'm hoping for some help and advice .

About 3 weeks ago I had what I think was a bladder infection. It started with bladder pressure and peeing constantly . This went on for about 5 days until I went to docs . I had also dipped my urine in one of the surgeries I work in and all that showed was a trace of blood . Anyway took a sample to docs who dipped it and said nothing showing but sent it to lab to be cultured just incase . He also gave me antibiotics for 3 days . So lab results said no infection but took the antibiotics and after about 5 days it felt better .

Fast forward 2 1/2 weeks later and pressure is back with a vengeance the need to pee is awful no let up at all as soon as I pee the pressure starts immediately. I have dipped my urine and stick showing trace blood again but I honestly think my urine always shows this, symptoms or not no idea why though.

But as my health anxiety is soo bad just now I've managed to convince myself I have some awful disease and you can imagine the ones I mean .

What could this be if dipstick and lab saying no infection I'm also worrying why I have trace blood showing even though I don't know if this is just normal for me.

I've been taking natural remedies d-mannose and uvi ursi and drinking loads of water but nothing is working.

I really don't want to annoy the doctor as they are not letting anyone in the surgeries just now and they are overrun with phone consultation's.

Can anyone relate to these symptoms I'm 43 incase that helps ?

I would appreciate any input.

Thank you x

I’m 46 btw. I have regular periods so no idea if I’m peri….

One other thing, it sounds to me like Interstitial Cystitis because you have a constant feeling of pressure. I’ve had that, a few times and it’s like a loop…. You pee, worry about it, want to pee more. You need to make sure you empty your bladder fully every time you go loo cos even a tiny bit left over will make you feel full shortly after. Your bladder sounds inflamed and I remember years ago having this and it was horrid, painful and annoying.

i have had bladder issues for 8 months now. It’s not the same as you described but I’ve had exactly what you have and it did go away. Lots of water, peeing till you fully empty your bladder and cut down on acidic things like fruit and fizzy drinks.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply @missiz I do feel a sort of dragging yes. I feel like I could go to the loo all the time but I'm trying not to? Yes I think perhaps intersistal cystitis after my initial UTI about few months ago. Hoping clarityn helps and I'm trying not to obsess over it. Does feel like a pressure on my bladder so I wonder if a cyst or something.

It doesn’t sound like a cyst. It sounds like cystitis. It’s painful and will cause all the symptoms you have. Try not to worry, easier said I know.

You have just had a uti. What has happened is irritation to the bladder babe. Also, over active bladder from peeing loads. It will settle down. Anti hestimines are a good shout.

@Vinosaurus @Mollylolly @BeKind88 did you ever find a cure?

Mollylolly · 13/11/2025 22:39

@Sunny866
Hi there, for some reason my issues just went away . I honestly think it was the beginning of peri for me. Mixed with terrible anxiety. A combination for sure . I still pee a lot. But I don't have that awful feeling where I needed to go 24/7. I had loads of test at the time too. It was truly an awful time.

Also eventually went away on its own for me too. It’s happened twice now. Quite possibly peri.
