My very kind doctor stayed open late to see me and checked it out. My whole ear canal is swollen almost closed so it isn't certain "it" isn't in there (it feels as though someing is still in there but it is probably like when your head itches if someone mentions lice). I now have painkillers and some antihistamine/hydrocortisone ear drops, and 2 dark chocolate flakes (all for medicinal purposes). It really hurts and I feels like I am under water. Typically dh is working late tonightso had to drag the children along with me to the doctor/chemist. Never thought to ask a neighbour to watch them, as I'm still not used to living somewhere where theneighbours are nice and helpful.

omg that's awful poor you!

ComeOVeneer · 11/09/2007 19:42

Thanks SEA. TBH I seem to be prone to ridiculous injuries. A few days ago I ripped my eyelid open whilst waxing my eyebrows. I should start a thread to see what other bizarre injuries MNers have sustained.

ComeOVeneer · 11/09/2007 20:09

Well nowSEA a roly poly what doyou expect? , that sort of thing is never a good idea at our age (btw have no idea what your age is but I certainly know it would do me a mischief)

Eurgghh, that sounds horrid, you poor thing! A friend of ours got an insect is his ear while on holiday in France. He had some difficulty persuading the doctor the critter was in his earhole and not his *rsehole.

savethecheerleader · 11/09/2007 21:14

Sounds awful, hope you feel better soon. Dark chocolate flakes....eh?

ComeOVeneer · 11/09/2007 21:16

I have to say I realy am not certain it isn't still in there moving around. If it still feels like that tomorrow I think I will ask the doctor to refer me to the hospital.

I've had a really lousy day, my ear is soooo painful and it seems to have affected the whole of the right side of my face, my eye is watery, I feel like I have ablocken sinus and a head ache. Not a happy bunny.

Saw the doctor again this morning at she prescribed different drops and also an anti histamine tablet. It is feeling a bit better now, so hopefully we are on the right track. Now I just need to invest in a set of earplugs for venturing outside.

I have only been stung 3 times in my life, once on the sole of my foot, once on the bum and now in my ear!

I'm glad you're feeling better. With that track record, I don't think I'll dwell on where you're likely to be stung next!!
