Ds has come down and says he has a headache. Problem is I have an important meeting this morning (not work related as don't work).
I feel awful but do you think I am a mean mum if I send him in and tell his teacher to ring if he is still bad in an hour? He is 9. I have given him calpol and he doesn't have a temperature, just looks very tired to me.

You have to go with your gut feeling about how ill he is. Personally, if it's not a long meeting, I'd dose him up on Nurofen and send him in, then tell him to get the school to ring you later if he feels ill.

I would give him a dose of nurofen aswell and tell the school that he has a headache. They will ring you if he becomes ill.

There's a nasty virus doing the rounds up here. Headache is only the beginnig if he has it. Watch out for vomiting muscles pains and belly ache. It's a cracker. You have been warned!

Hope it's not.

I'm a send em to school come hell or high water kind of mummy - mainly through seeing how much time I had off (mine was genuine illnesses, was always just unlucky) and how I have big chunks of education missing. If I think they might improved, then send.

If you know he'll still be bad in an hour though, then you might have to reschedule

DoctorAficionadoDelArse · 11/09/2007 07:53

, between vomiting and muscle pains of course.

Flamesparrow · 11/09/2007 07:59

vomiting muscles sounds interesting

Blossomhill · 11/09/2007 21:31

Thanks. Sent him in and he still has headache. Keep him off tomorrow I think!

Is that true DoctorA?

Dd3 has been off for two days with a headache, chest ache and stomach cramps. Nothing too bad but I was hoping she was going to go back to school tomorrow.

Very true. LOL at my vomiting muscles, they're terrible!
