DD1 is ill AGAIN and Im just holding it together, shes been sobbing all night and morning that she cant go to school (1st day today). This is ridic , whats going on in our house .Im so upset for her too , as shes had such a rough summer hols. This is my life in a nutshell;

Jan-feb Vomiting bug (whole house)
April Chicken pox dd1 & 2
May Surgery me
May Hospital emergency dd2, 2 day stay (post surgery 6 days prior)
July Breast cancer scare me : biopsy's scans etc(thank god all clear now)
Aug Hospital emergency dd1, 2 day stay
Sept temperature and fever (now what ??????)

I also had an almighty panic attack on the bathroom floor, as dh started getting all arsey about being disturbed/ illness yet again.

Im off to triage nurse at GP in half hr to see whats going on. Im worried its glandular fever or something. Shes said her ear hurted her last night and says its fine now , but im worried shes just saying it so she can go to school.

((hugs)) honey
Sounds like you've had a bad health yr.
If DD has been given the all clear at the nurse send her to school, they'll ring if she gets bad in the day.

Oh Melsy.. get to Bong Land asap.. take the kids with you

Seriously though.. thinking of you. Some years are like this, but yours sounds particularly dire (((hugs)))

melsy · 10/09/2007 09:33

I need hugs, feel very alone with it all. Dh has been less than supportive a lot of the time.

shes not allowed in for 24hrs post temperature and then theyre closed from Thurs, so its not going to happen this week for her. I havent told her yet , shes going to be beside herself .

gotta go in a min YUCK.

{{{{Hug}}}} Oh I'll send you a hug too. What a crappy year you've all had.

just to update

nurse was lovely , didnt muck about after discussing the hospital stay with drips etc, as dd1 had a very far gone UTI less than 10 days ago. So we had to stay for a while with glasses of water and several trips to the loo with a pot. The other receptionists looke after dd2.

Leukocytes have been found again , but no nitrates , so as over 4 they wont give antibiotics unless something shows up on the lab. So we have to wait for cultures to grow by Wed. She feels we need a follow up with the pead, and if they find infection further tests may be required.

I now wish theyd done that Ultrasound after all . She seems ok ish , looks very purpley beige round the eyes and has moments of being herself then shes really tired.

They've test for diabetes again, as shes drinking like a fish and so thirsty , but said nothing may show yet(as in ketones), as shes ill , .

So we have to sit and wait for cultures and keep her drinking fluids and temp down.

I tried to sleep upstairs with her when dd2 had her nap , but the little sausage wouldnt let me and kept yabbering !! Thank fully weve got enough dinner in fridge from last night so I dont need to faff making anything , just re heating , but Im soo giddy and zoned out.

Poor you Melsy. I soooooo know how you feel.

This is our list:

March/April: DD breech. Very worried about pending CS, umpteen appts, scans etc.
May: DD born a month early (came as a huge shock - I didn't even have a bag packed).
May: DD admitted into hospital on her due date at four weeks old. She spent three weeks in hospital and was critically ill in ICU/HDU for 10 days of this.
May: DD screened for a suspected serious congenital heart defect (all clear)
May: Breast cancer scare for me (no biopsy, but scan and mammogram)
June: DH develops chronic acid indigestion and swallowing problems
July: DH has gastroscopy and oesophageal biopsy (clear)
August: After a month in acute pain, DH finally insists on a chest x-ray. Turns out to have a spontaneously collapsed lung. Requires major surgery, three days in ICU and a month recuperation time.
April - September: DS2 constantly snotty. Three weeks out of four months is the measly amount of time he has had a clear nose. Finally succumbed to the AB's last week and he is loads better

SIGH.... it's been a terrible year eh? We should start a support group.

melsy · 11/09/2007 21:08

oohhh dejags thats awful for all of you. How have you been coping with it all ? seems an inordinate amount in small time, like me. Someone said I needed counselling ?

Isnt it awful that yuor dh had to push for further tests. Its seems that one has to present symptoms in an almost text book way to be taken seriously. It worries me that dd1 has something more that's being missed , I can feel somethings just not quite right .
