HIB vaccine for a 4 year old?

taffy101 · 09/09/2007 20:50

I recently had a card through for my 4 yr old dd to have 4th HIB vaccine. I was confused as it is not in the immunisation schedule so tried to contact HV - left message on answerphone but not heard back.

dd had the mmr + DTP/whooping cough in July (pre-school booster) and i assured her she wouldn't need any more till she was 12!!! I have googled it and all sites seem to indicate its not needed after 4 yrs as very rare after this age. The appointment is tomorrow - should i bother going?

TIA

Hi, my 4 YO had just had her pre school booster, and I was told the HIB was in with that. I was told she would need nothing else until shes 10.

Sorry not much help.

that is quite helpful sarah - at least it means it is feasible that this necessary and not a computer error.
