Headachy, temperature is currently 42.1, chest is painful, like it's being crushed, was breathless after the school run, weak and exhausted.
I've got flu haven't I?

I always associate shivers with flu. When I had the flu I was shivering so much it hurt

Sexnotgender · 06/03/2020 10:40

Ooft, 42 is high. No wonder you feel rubbish.

Sounds more like pneumonia than flu to me, think you really need to get checked out

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 06/03/2020 11:54

I have a GP appointment for 3. Ive explained my symptoms, so they're well aware but they've told me to go into the surgery anyway.

Please phone NHS 111 for advice before going to your GP appointment.

You may need to be tested for the coronavirus.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

Hope you feel better soon that’s an awfully high temperature Flowers

RuthW · 06/03/2020 12:15

Please do not go to your gp. Ring 111

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 06/03/2020 12:39

I spoke to 111. They're the ones who told me to make a GP appointment.
I have not been out of the country ever, and haven't had contact with anyone with a confirmed cases, so I'm low risk of covid 19 apparently

111 should not be telling people with Corona Virus type symptoms to go to their GP! We have no idea how endemic the virus is, but it is likely to be circulating amongst people with no travel history already. Firstly, have you got anyone with you? Breathlessness, chest pain and high temp are serious symptoms. Have you got a local Corona Virus pod? Some areas of the country have pods or arrangements for drive through testing if you are well enough to be taken there.
I really think you should phone 111 again.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 06/03/2020 13:44

My mum is here.
None of us drive so driving isn't an option.

It's a urine infection.

I don't get typical symptoms, never have and have been hospitalised previously because I don't present as a usual case. So GP checked anyway.
