Can anyone help me work out what's going on?

Firstly, I know MN is not able to diagnose me. I have an out of hour's doctors appointment booked for this Sat so will be getting professional advice.
However, I have some odd symptoms and am scaring myself silly googling (I know!) so I just wondered if anyone had experienced similar.
The main symptom is an 'odd' feeling in my legs. Its easier to describe what it isn't - not painful, tingling, sore, no change in appearance. Its a similar feeling to when you've knelt or sat on your legs for too long and when you get up, it feels as if the blood isn't circulating properly. If that makes any sense at allConfused
I've had it for a few days. No problem with mobility, although have recently been diagnosed with arthritic hips which do cause me discomfort.
I'm 45, I'm overweight but generally an active person, I work part time and lead a busy life as we all do, looking after my family etc.
The other symptom which may or may not be related is that I seem to feel very cold and shivery a lot of the time.
Any ideas, anyone??

Trapped nerve from the arthritis?

Do you have any incontinence issues, bowel or bladder?

MetallicPaints · 05/03/2020 18:02

Thanks for your reply, that might make sense, and less scary than some of the options I've been reading about! No, no problems with bowel or bladder.

Could very well be related to your arthritis? And you're at that peri-menopause age...

As a starting point, I'd hope your doc would do your bloods; maker sure Vitamin D, iron panel (including ferritin), B12 & folate and thyroid are all checked. Get your actual levels and do your own research, as NHS guidelines are often out of date with current research (esp with D and ferritin).

Hope you get to the bottom of it! X

Yes definitely peri menopausal, not much fun. I will make sure I ask about those blood tests, thank you for suggesting it.

We do have private healthcare through my husband's work so maybe I will go down that route once I've seen the GP.

You mean it goes numb and sometimes tingles? The doctor will order bloods to see if any deficiencies eg b12; HbA1C etc.... after that maybe an appointment with neurology as it could be to do with spine/discs eg a bulge can affect sensations in the legs/feet.

MetallicPaints · 05/03/2020 19:18

No not numb or tingling, sorry I wasn't very clear as it is hard to describe. Just an odd feeling like my blood isn't circulating properly, as if I've knelt on my legs and stood up and am waiting for the blood to flow again. That's the best I can describe itConfused
