Been itchy and sore for a few days.

I bought canesten Internal and external cream in case its thrush

But I've been needing to pee loads and just feeling icky.

So been drinking cranberry and water.

Send DP to get me some cystitis treatment.

I found a place online that does cheap oral thrush tablets so going to order some of them.

I've been trying to get a GP appointment since Monday. Impossible.

I'm just fed up

Definitely not STI

It feels like thrush and cystitis together

I had this battle rage on a few years back with recurrent thrush and everytime the GP took a swab it came back negative

Am so sick of it

Have you used a new type of lube, condoms, shower gel, soap etc which you might be allergic to?
I used to get recurring cysitis and my GP recommended D Manosse powder and I’ve never had a hint of cystitis since in 8 years.
As for the recurring thrush it might be worth taking a daily probiotic to clear out the bad bacteria in your body.
Hope you feel better soon

Cut out sugar, dairy, grains, coffee, alcohol. Eat just vegetables (preferably raw), rice, chicken and fish. No fruit, peas, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds. Lots of non citrus vitamin C and make sure the cranberry juice has no added sugar or sugar substitute. Take D Mannose powder or capsules and probiotics.

How old are you?

INeedNewShoes · 26/02/2020 12:47

Go to your local sexual health clinic walk in! It doesn't matter that its not an STI. The doctors and nurses at these clinics are the absolute experts with all things down below and will swab etc. and prescribe whatever they think is needed. I really didn't want to go the first time that I did, but honestly these clinics are fabulous and I don't feel at all awkward there about stripping off, whereas I do a bit with my GP.

I'm 35.

I might go to the Gum clinic. I feel slightly better now but since getting up and putting clothes on I can feel it again

Does your husband get treated at the same time, even if he is not itchy, you are possibly passing it back and forth

SocialMediaUser1511 · 27/02/2020 20:23

Have you seen a doctor for a proper inspection? It could be lichen sclerosis.

Ozziewozzie · 27/02/2020 20:26

Could it be Bacterial Vaginosis? It’s hormonily linked. Needs a diff treatment to thrush.

Nat6999 · 27/02/2020 20:29

Have a warm bath with a big handful of salt in it, will soothe any sore bits, tiny scratches etc. Don't use any soap, get some E45 wash or aqueous cream to use instead, pat dry, don't rub & use pure cotton underwear.

anothermamaa · 27/02/2020 20:40

I am an absolute pro on thrush. I had it recurrently throughout my early twenties. So... do as @ChateauMargaux says. Cut ALL suger. Look up anti candida diet.

Go on amazon and buy yourself topida intimate hygiene spray. I still use it and it keeps thrush at bay for me and soothes all irritation. Honestly it's amazing. While you're at it buy some probiotics.

Buy yourself some apple cider vinegar and put a generous amount in the bath.

If you're desperate, mix up some live yoghurt, a little cider vinegar and a couple of drops of eucalyptus/ tea tree oil and apply directly. You can add in one of the probiotic capsules as well for that extra hit of good bacteria.

This is if it is thrush !! I reckon topida spray will work for other irritation too. Best thing I found !! Good luck ... it's truly horrible.

I agree that a walk in sexual health clinic will be able to swab and treat all sorts. Hopefully you can get to one easily and feel a lot better soon.

ivykaty44 · 27/02/2020 20:48

Re cranberry juice, it’s often only “juice style” and will be full of sugar, water and little cranberries

IndieTara · 27/02/2020 21:22

I second D Mannose for anything UTI related it's a life saver

kittykat818 · 12/07/2022 13:28

@anothermamaa How long did you do the diet for? I am on day 2 LOL and feel like giving up already!

Rina66 · 12/07/2022 13:31

Someone posted on here yesterday about the app 'livi' - it's £39 to get a video consult with a GP but if affiliated to your GP it's free, they can prescribe to your local pharmacy. Might be worth a try?
