Ovarian cyst

I had a scan two weeks ago after half an hour of severe pelvic pain one night, during which I nearly passed out. They found a 2.5 cm ovarian cyst with 'uniform internal echoes' - suggestions for what it could be are hemorrhagic cyst or endometrioma. I hope nothing worse.
I have a hospital appointment this week but I'm having quite a bit of pain from it mainly in the bladder/ pelvic floor area and constantly feel like I need a wee. Does anyone have any ideas what this might mean, is it likely to be growing Sad? Not sure whether to go back to the Dr because although the pain isnt as bad as when I started with it, nothing seems to touch it. Just scared it might be bleeding or something?

Not 100% sure but your symptoms 2.5 weeks before resonates more with hemorrhagic cyst (feeling of passing out). If it was a simple cyst that ruptured than it may have caused inflammation which is causing pain right now. Go to the GP if you are in physical pain or worried too much else wait for the hospital appointment if it is for another scan. A scan can help gp decide better.

I had exactly them same found at the end of October - same size, either a haemorrhagic or endometrioma cyst. My GP referred me to a gynae (not an urgent referral) and I had a repeat scan in December and the cyst has shrunk slightly (2cm), they are happy to leave it and said it should go within a few more months. I think if you have increasing pain or additional symptoms it would be worth discussing it with your GP.

I get a lot of mid cycle pain and am waiting for a followup to discuss either going back on the pill (combined - I'm 45 so there are risks) or zoladex plus HRT. Either would stop me ovulating which in my case is what I want (fewer cysts less pain)!

Thanks - it's not so bad today so I think I'll just wait. I had a two week referral which freaked me out slightly. Hope mine decides it is going to shrink too. These gynae problems are a pain. I've got away quite lightly up to now but also found out I have a fibroid to add to the mix.

I had a haemorrhaging cyst of 6cm (kept growing) but had no symptoms. They wanted to remove it surgically but I refused. It resolved spontaneously which was a miracle! I hope yours does too x
