Swollen tonsils but no tonsillitis

Tonsils are quite swollen and it hurts a little to swallow, I don't usually bother the gp with tonsillitis but I don't think it is that as I don't have any other symptoms 🤔 not sure what to treat it with, have had it for several weeks now and they seem to be getting bigger, anyone had similar before?

Your tonsils and/ or glands swelling are a sign of your body fighting a bug/ virus so it's very possible to have swollen tonsils but no actual illness. Help your body by boosting fluid intake, vitamin c and rest and you might be able avoid it taking over and making you Ill .

That's good info, thank you. I'll take my vitamins and try and stay well, fingers crossed the infection doesn't get me. Quite relieved actually that swollen tonsils could mean that
