Any opticians? Keratitis...

Hi all. I was diagnosed with keratitis in one eye last week. I had to go to the eye hospital A&E for diagnosis and medication (that’s 4 hours I’m not going to get back). My eye was getting better but as soon as I reduced the dosage (on medical advice) it has got painful and sensitive again. Can anyone advise on whether it’s worth persevering with the lower dosage, or should I go back to hospital? I don’t want to waste their (and my) time and resources if I don’t have to. Thanks!

OP - yes, you need to go back.
What type of keratitis do you have?
Have they not asked to see you again?

I'm assuming if you're a contact lens wearer that you aren't wearing lenses at the moment.

Im not wearing lenses at the moment. I did go back after a few days, and they said to reduce the dose and see my optician next week. I have managed to get an appointment with a specialist ophthalmologist tomorrow morning, so hopefully that is not too late.

That should be fine. You’re better seeing someone competent tomorrow morning, rather than a random non-specialist in a&e this evening.
Hope it goes well.
