Weird throat / chest virus or something else?

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had some weird symptoms. Now, I am the master of weird health things happening to me, but hoping for some reassurance as I always think the worst. My symptoms are:

intermittent pain on both sides of my neck (usually one side but sometimes both at the same time), this achiness can also move to my shoulders, or up towards the bottom of my ears. Only when I move, don’t get it at night when lying down.

irritated throat which makes me cough to clear the irritation

Sometimes a squeaky sound from the back of my throat (think everything’s a bit swollen and irritated). Once after a bout of coughing / throat clearing I suddenly got really wheezy and squeaky (coming from throat / top of windpipe). Scary but quickly calmed it down with milk and covonia.

Occasional sense that my chest and throat are rattling (like a chest infection), which I can clear when I cough

Haven’t had a cold or anything, this has just started from nowhere as far as I can tell. I do have an underactive thyroid but not sure if connected. Should I make a gp appointment? I always worry about the big C as was a smoker when younger (in mid 20’s, so gave up 18 years ago). Don’t have a fever and no tiredness (so don’t ‘feel’ ill). Any thoughts before I google myself silly?

Been googling and am a bit worried it’s my thyroid behind these symptoms (specifically thyroid cancer). I did have a neck ultrasound 2 years ago, would this have picked it up? Anyone know about symptoms of thyroid cancer?
