Tonsillitis talk - *Warning* Graphic pictures!

It feels like I get tonsillitis alllll the time, but last night I went to bed feeling absolutely fine then woke two hours later in agony.
My tonsils aren't particularly massive but one seems to be bleeding??? I have to take pictures for my doctor because of a previous scare so I've got a decent documentation of it becoming worse over the course of the day.

I've also feel so ill. My head is killing me, I feel really sick, haven't managed to eat anything apart from a very soggy potato waffle. I'm shaking with cold even when the room is boiling, then getting too hot again.

Is this a viral case or will it need antibiotics? I've never seen them so bloody, they usually have a little streak but it's mainly pus!

First photo is 10am this morning, second is 1pm and the third is from 6pm (but still what they look like now) excuse my horrible teeth, I really am desperate I feel like such a hypochondriac going to the doctors with this

From my own experience I’ve not been given antibiotics until my tonsils are white with pus and even when I had small white spots was 100% certain it was tonsillitis I still never got antibiotics for 3 days.

Both my sons have been off school with what you described sore red throat shivering headache unable to eat I really thought when the first one went it would turn into tonsillitis but after a few days off school both were back to normal again.

I can’t see any bleeding? Just looks red and sore, use some difflam spray and take analgesia.

Unfortunately it is bacterial tonsillitis 😩 the red was blood because I kept spitting it up! Never been in so much pain with it before, on antibiotics now

You haven’t sympathy OP - I’ve had bacterial tonsillitis 3 times since November so do go back if the first antibiotics haven’t fully cleared it ( I have the starting of a sore throat again now and am completely Lara oid it’s coming back again!)
