Soreness after tooth extraction

So posting again as I am a little anxious over this tooth extraction I had last Thursday and need some reassurance that I am not crazy ...

Tooth came out and it appears to be healing ok (pink, creamy patch with the creamy area getting smaller) and the extraction site is not bothering me.
However the area on the inside gums are feeling very sore just above where the tooth came out going onto to the palate. It doesn't hurt like mad but feels very sore. Appearance wise to me it doesn't look red or swollen. Is this normal? It is also the same area where the dentist injected me a number of times with the local anaesthetic (and I screamed when he did this as it hurt like mad!) I would have though any post extraction swelling etc would have calmed down by now ...?
Thanks in advance for your response .... just nervous as this is the first time in this position....

The tissues in your mouth at the injection site(s), would have been stretched by the injected liquid. Its likely to feel bruised tender for a while. Meanwhile follow the advise your dentist gave you for aftercare. Give it some time and it ought to settle, if not then go back. But do make sure you do the salt water rinsing as often as you shouldve been told. This should help Halo

Thanks @notthedressiwanted for the reply.
I guess I am stressing about the healing process as I am due to take a very long haul flight shortly and want everything to be settle before I go.... last thing I want is to be away and have to worry about finding a dentist to sort out a problem in a country I am not familiar with ...
