Sorry to be gross but I'm sitting here googling what a normal mouth should look like and hoping for some reassurance!

I felt a red bump on the roof of my mouth and couldn't take a look in the mirror without breaking my neck so took a picture and I have seen this (image attached)

Is it normal? I have a swollen gland in my neck and under my ear lobe, only one sided.

I'm not asking for a diagnosis I'd just like some reassurance that my hard pallet is normal. 🙈TIA!

I have no idea what it is but you MUST see a Dr. Please make an appointment. It may be easily treated with anti-fungal or antibiotic medication but don't leave it incase it is something more serious.

Mopmum35 · 03/02/2020 23:38

O gosh not normal, please see the doc.

@LuluJakey1 @Mopmum35
Thankyou, I have seen a doctor this morning and showed them the picture, I also have more cold type symptoms today so the doc said viral infection although she didn't really say much about the mouth spots.

I have a dentist appointment in March so I will get them to take a look too to be safe.

I'm a dentist OP and that looks completely normal to me.

Absolutely nothing concerning.

At most it looks like you've burnt your mouth tbh.

If you feel the lump is growing fast get into your dentist sooner, but there's really nothing in that picture I can see that would cause any concern.

NutBiscuit · 04/02/2020 11:49

What is it that PPs are seeing that looks abnormal? As in, which area of the photo?

MoonlightMistletoe · 04/02/2020 12:08

@DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon Thankyou so much I was worried sick about it! I was concerned about the red/dark pin prick spots @NutBiscuit
