we've not been together since we came back until yesterday.
her boy it seems has chicken pox (first noticed a few spots on friday night)
my baby is 12 weeks old. is it worse for babies?
is there anything i should do?
is my nephew still contageous? should we stay away?

He was unlikely to be contagious a week ago if spots only came out on Friday - most likely only since Wednesday - but wodulhave been yesterday as he will be contagious for 5 days ish after spots so I'd steer clear now. You wouldn't be able to fly if your lo gets it and it takes 10 days to 3 weeks to incubate. He could get it mildly or badly , it varies.

Have you had CP? If so your ds will have alot of immunity from you, even more so if you are breastfeeding. My ds got CP at 21 days and only had two spots - I expect he will get it again one day. It is most dangerous for babies w/out maternal immunity in the first month. I would ring your GP and have a chat myself, if they feel it is necessary your ds can have some antiviral stuff.

I wouldn't risk flying or going abroad.
