Hi all. I had an op for a rectocele and perinium repair a couple of weeks ago. All went fairly well but then I got an infection and ended up back in hospital for a week. Anyway I’ve now been home for a few days and I feel very tired as expected. Trouble is I have a heck of a lot of pain - just very sore and tender down below despite paracetamol and ibuprofen. Specialist has looked and said all looks well but I’m concerned about why it hurts so much. Does anyone else have experience of this at all?

Mine hurt a lot and I have a pretty high pain tolerance normally, I spoke to the gp and they prescribed oramorph for break through pain.

Thanks so much Pootleandposey - was yours sore and tender and how long did it stay like that for? The specialist said it was just thrush from all the antibiotics I’ve been on but medication for that has made no difference.
