Ear ache

Can anybody help with earache? What is the best remedy? The right hand side of my head feels like it will implode from the pressure. No discharge or build up of wax just really painful throbbing.

Nurofen for inflammation and a hot water bottle put on the ear itself.

My son just had his first ever ear infection and he sobbed in pain it was so bad. He found lying down helped on a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel. Regular pain killers and I would suggest stronger painkillers which you can buy over the counter like cocodamol and alternate that with ibuprofen. He found the pain got worse after he had been up and about for a while. His ear drum perforated and he had a little relief then it built up again over a few days and seemed to leak a lot more. The doctor gave him antibiotics after the second week of being in pain and it cleared up quickly after that. Hope yours isn’t too bad!
