Any experts in self catheterisation?!

Been using intermittent catheter twice a day, morning and evening for few days now. Is it normal that after using catheter next few pees are sore and there's little bit of staining (blood) on the paper? Using cath for urinary retention with a hope that few weeks will sort it out!

Yes. That can be normal at first. Just be as gentle as you can when you insert, and remove it. Make sure you drink enough also. If it doesn't settle after a while bring it up with your health provider.

Thanks for your replay @torvean. Just hope I haven't scarred my urethra, catheter is coated so goes in quite easily actually so don't get what's with the pain and blood afterwards 🤷‍♀️
