Wisdom teeth @ 37?!

Oh my christ.

From this morning I have had this monumental pain at the back of my teeth (lower). Dull, throbbing which is getting worse as the day goes on. I've taken some pretty strong painkillers and just waiting fir them to kick in. The pain is causing my other teeth to ache, but the top ones (if that makes sense?)

I do have a cold/sinus issues but thought that would effect the top ones not the bottom...?

I've had a look in the mirror and the gum does look a little swollen with visible tiny veins, other side doesn't.

Could it be wisdom teeth?? I thought they were done in your 20's?

Been calling around dentists and no one is taking on NHS, as I'm currently exempt (maternity)!! 😭😭😭

Can you call the last dental surgery you attended and ask for advice? Their records may show when your wisdom teeth erupted.

Other thoughts to consider: abscess? tonsillitis? Obviously if the pain doesn't subside you'll need to be seen by a professional sooner rather than later.

@LarkDescending

I had one taken out approx 10 years ago. Other side at the bottom 🤷‍♀️

Could be abscess. If it is a bad pain and you can afford £80 consultation or so with a private dentist get seen ASAP.

I'm in my thirties and none of my wisdom teeth are through yet!

Call 111 and say you are in pain (that bit's important) and can't find a dentist taking NHS. They'll find you an emergency appt somewhere.

Had 3 out late twenties final one out at 43!

I've just been introduced to a fantastically foul taste in my mouth now 🤢

On the plus side I'm taking Co-Drydamol for another ailment and it seems to be taking the edge off it.

Have found an NHS dentist in my parents village. They've said to leave it tonight but if its still bad in the morning they will give me an emergency appointment. Hate dentists!!
