Combined pill and insomnia

After trying several different hormone therapies for suspected endometriosis, and a horrific experience on the mini pill, I was finally prescribed cilique, a combined pill. For first few weeks I felt better than I had in so long, just a few vivid dreams and slight occasional nausea.

Then my sleep started going awry. It's been getting steadily worse - I'm having difficulty getting asleep but when I do it's very broken with vivid dreams and I'm often wide awake after a few hours with little chance of getting back asleep. Last night I slept from 12.30 to 2 then spent a couple of hours trying various mediation apps until I nodded off around 4 for another hour.
It's starting to have an effect - I'm exhausted and feeling anxious. I spoke to my GP this morning and she has prescribed melatonin for a month to try and regulate my pattern again.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I suspect I could be peri-menopausal (I'm 39)
as I'd been having bad night sweats before my period when I wasn't on any treatment and have had other hormonal issues. Could this be why the pill is affecting my sleep this way? Really don't want to try other pills right now as in every other way this is working!
